Faerie Fun

This post came out a little later than I would have liked. But fortunately it's a little longer than I've been doing lately, so that should hopefully make up for it.

Wait, I have a Formspring?

I know, it kind of surprised me too. I was checking my email today and found that I had received a couple of questions form the formspring box I added to the side of my blog a while ago and then quickly forgot about. So since someone was willing to take the time to throw out a question, I figured it would be rather rude if I didn't reciprocate with an answer.

Are you a sssy?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that this individual wants to know if I am a sissy. In my fantasies? Sometimes. But in the real world? Not so much. More or less I'm just a straight guy who likes to imagine what it would be like to be a girl for a bit. While I love writing a good sissy caption, more often than not my own personal fantasies tend to go along the lines of a magical, full transformation, and preferably a temporary one at that. My love for sissy captions actually has more to do with the fact that I find them to be much more interesting to write about as there is such a wide range of emotions tied up in sissification (joy, guilt, lust, humiliation, etc). And as a writer I'm naturally drawn to exploring the depth that the world of sissies provides.

Are you a tgirl?

This is more or less answered by my response above, but just in case some of you decided to skip over that block of text, no I am not. I'm a heterosexual male who decided to share his fantasies of being turned into a woman with all of you nice people here on the internet. Tg is just a fantasy for me, although I understand and completely support those for whom it is an integral part of their lives and identities. Oh and in a similar vein, my sexual identity is true for both the real world and online. "Rauk" is my male name (I know, it's weird as most tg captioners go by their female persona). If for some reason you're interested in finding out more about me (such as how I got into tg or why I decided to start making captions), check out my Bio section up at the top. Or you can also see the couple of captions I've put myself into by looking at the tag "Kylie" over on the left side of the blog.

I wonder if you could do a caption with a redhead and a magic hairbrush?

I want to apologize for this one, as I realized when I logged into formspring today that it's been sitting there for six months. To whomever requested this, I'm really sorry, I did not mean to ignore your idea. But to address the question, if I found a picture that worked I can't see why not. I've never run across something like this in the places I usually search (although those places do tend to focus on naked people for some reason). So if I find something that works, sure. But if you'd rather not leave it up to chance and find something yourself, feel free to email it to me at 22rauk@gmail.com. I can't promise that I'll use it (I'm kind of picky about the images I use in captions) but I guarantee you'll get a response from me either way.

So that's it for this round of formspring. It was a lot of fun answering some questions, and hopefully there will be some more in the future. The submission box is over on the side of the blog like everything else, or if you don't like that or want to really ensure I get your message, send me an email.

Sorry for yet another update without a caption, but I'm thinking you'll be seeing something new from me on Saturday... I hope.

Smitty's "Virtual Vacation"

I wanted to put out a new caption for you all today, but unfortunately that didn't work out. Hopefully I'll be able to create something new in the next couple of days, but until then here's something to hold you over.

At the moment I've read through somewhere between 15 and 20 of the possible 25 endings, and I have to say Smitty has outdone himself once again with this one. I can't recommend this caption highly enough. So if you've got a few minutes why not read through an ending or two? Be warned though, you just might find yourself wasting an entire evening exploring every twist and turn this series has to offer.

Why are you still reading this? Seriously go check it out.

Out of Her System

I originally intended this to be a much smuttier caption than it turned out being. But once I got it started the story just took off in its own direction, and I've done enough captions by this point to know better than to try to fight a caption once it builds up momentum. But no matter how you look at it, it still has a really hot picture and despite what I'd like to say to the contrary a hot pic is easily more than half of what makes up a "good" caption... Aw, now I made myself feel less important. I'm going to go argue with some people on the internet, that'll show everyone how awesome I am again.

Day-to-Day Stuff

Hey everyone, I've got a quick update and a question for you in regards to the general day-to-day stuff for the blog.

First up, commenting. There's a lot of talk on the tg blogs I frequent about commenting recently. I'm not going to go into a whole lot of depth as pretty much everything has been covered. If you're interested you can check out the conversations here, here, and here. What I want to focus on is idea of the disconnect between me as the author and you as the audience. I've always tried to keep the tone of this blog extremely informal and relaxed. Unfortunately I hurt that idea by how rarely I respond to comments, making it seem like I don't want to be a part of the conversation that goes on here. So starting now I'm going to try to respond to pretty much every comment I can as a way of showing you all how much I appreciate what you have to say about my work.

Which brings us to the second order of business, the question I have for all of you. Smitty suggested to me that I switch to click-through style of posting so that I can better track page views for individual captions. Now on a creator level that sounds great, but my primary goal is to make this blog work for the readers as much as possible. So I'm leaving it up to all of you. If you want to leave me a comment that's great, but since I want to get a feel for as much of my audience as possible, feel free to use the rating boxes at the bottom of the post as well.

If you like the idea of going to click-through, or if it doesn't really matter to you one way or the other, click "Great"

If you like the way the blog is now and don't want to add another click between you and the captions, click "Not My Thing"

I'll let this poll run for probably a week or so before making the decision to switch or not.

Oh, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, here are a couple of examples of the style I'd be switching to. This, this, and this.

Pretty Pink Pussy

And I'm back. As per custom, my first caption after a break is the obligatory taunting lesbian caption. Although this one has much more of a heterosexual aspect than I usually go with for this style. I'm not sure how often I'll be posting as I'm still not back to peak motivation, but I figured since I found a little bit today I had better make the most of it.

Well This is Awkward....

Hey everyone, I wish I had a new caption for you after my week long absence, but sadly I do not. I'm kind of in a weird place right now in terms of writing. I don't want to call it writer's block, as that implies an underlying frustration about wanting to write and not being able to. What I'm going through right now is a complete lack of inspiration and motivation. I've been meaning to write something new for the past four days, but as you can see that hasn't happened.

So here's what's happened the past few times I've gone to write a new caption:
  • I open up my "To Caption" folder of images
  • Scan through all of them, find nothing I want to write about
  • Close the folder, head over to my usual image sites looking for new material
  • Find nothing that inspires any kind of caption
  • Start exploring other websites that I don't usually use for captioning
  • Remember why I don't use other sites after finding nothing once again
  • Read other captioners' work in an attempt to get inspired
  • Eventually close the internet and just let my mind wander to see if it latches on to anything in particular
  • Give up and plan on writing something new tomorrow
I don't end up frustrated or angry like I do when I have a story but it just won't come out right. I just feel slightly disappointed and then I get on with the rest of my day.

So now I've decided that this pattern isn't working for me. I'm going to be taking some time off from the tg world in hopes that coming back with fresh eyes and a clear mindset will get the stories flowing once again. Hopefully this will clear up in a few more days and I'll be back to turning out new stuff before you know it.

Ugh, it seems like all I do recently is take time off. Remember the days when I was putting out three new captions a week, every week? Yeah, that was cool... Someday I'll be back to that level. Or at least that's the dream. Anyway, I hope to be back soon, thanks for your patience.

Cute Little Sissy

After the last caption's more serious tone, I felt the need to do something fun. And nothing says "fun" quite like rhyming couplets. I need to be in the right mood to write in this style, but these kind of captions are the ones I probably enjoy creating the most. Enjoy.
